...we solve problems...
What We Do
Hands-on technical and operational problem solving across critical functions:
- Operations & Manufactiuring
- Research and Development
- Quality Systems / ISO
- Material Testing & Spectroscopy
Applied where performance, reliability, and risk actually matter:
- Adhesives / Pressure Sensitive Adhesives
- Tapes and Labels
- Medical Devices
- Transdermal Drug Delivery
- Paper / Film / Extrusion
- Release Liners / Silicones
- Primers / Release Coatings
how we solve your problems
I help organizations strengthen decision making by aligning data, process, and operational reality.
That starts with fundamentals: first-principles thinking, technical literacy, and an honest look at data.
I don’t guess. I test, measure, compare, and verify.
And your confidentiality is assured.
Behind the scenes, our work is supported by research-grade lab equipment and a large, unique, FTIR database of non-confidential, store-bought adhesives, tapes, and labels that tell the story of what works and why.
This extensive FTIR reference data, coupled with our analytical chemistry, reverse engineering, mechanical testing, and research and development skills, allows us to see patterns emerge across products, formulations, and markets.
Think of it as the engine under the hood. Clients experience clarity and direction; the rigor stays mostly invisible.
About
My name is Rich Karpowicz. I hold a Ph.D. in chemistry and am an ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, with a project that delivered seven-figure year-over-year savings. This was accomplished with a combination of formulation and process know-how.
I bring decades of hands-on experience across R&D, manufacturing, quality systems, analytical chemistry, reverse engineering, and operations. I don’t just analyze problems—I work directly with materials, processes, and data to understand how and why systems – like your organization and its processes – can excel.
As an ASQ-certified Six Sigma Black Belt, I combine scientific rigor with practical judgment to move clients from short-term fixes to durable, defensible solutions.
…and the work is grounded in evidence—not opinion.
My perspective is shaped by time in the lab, on the plant floor, and in executive discussions—where decisions have real consequences.
Our Philosophy
Meaningful change begins with clarity and alignment.
In complex technical environments, understanding how work actually unfolds—and how processes, data, and decisions connect across functions—turns insight into action.
Seeing how technical work, operational realities, and decision-making fit together creates the conditions for durable improvement.
Our role is to help organizations step back and see those interactions clearly.
We work alongside teams on-site, combining practical analysis with deep technical engagement—formulation science, analytical chemistry, reverse engineering, coating and converting processes, rheology, and real operational data—so problems are understood at their source.
The result isn’t performative compliance or generic “quality training.” It’s clearer decisions across R&D, manufacturing, and operations, and improvements that feel natural, useful, and durable because they’re grounded in how the work actually gets done.
What's Next
There is no one-size-fits-all solution.
Every organization has its own history, constraints, and pressure points. The work starts with a focused conversation to determine what actually matters—and what’s getting in the way.
Whether you’re confronting a persistent quality issue, launching a new product, or trying to understand why smart people keep making the same mistakes, I can help you see clearly and act decisively.
…and by the way, we walk the walk. We are comfortable creating our own future – and yours. We have invested in the right opportunities, and will continue to do so when we see them.
And you? What are you investing in to build the future you say you want?
